How to Customize Your WearOS Watch

WearOS offers extensive customization through watch faces, complications, tiles, and quick settings. Personalizing these elements creates a watch experience tailored to your information needs and style preferences.

Watch Faces

Change your watch's appearance and the information it displays at a glance.

  • Changing Watch Faces: Long-press your current watch face to enter customization mode. Swipe left or right to browse available faces, then tap to select one. Each face may offer additional color and style options.

  • Adding Watch Faces: Open the Play Store on your watch and search for watch faces. Apps like Facer and WatchMaker provide thousands of free and premium designs beyond the built-in options.

  • Samsung-Specific: On Galaxy Watch, you can also browse and install faces through the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, which offers a larger preview.

Complications

Complications display live data directly on your watch face for quick information access.

  • What Complications Do: These small widgets show information like weather, step count, battery level, calendar events, or heart rate without opening an app.

  • Setting Up Complications: Long-press your watch face and tap Customize or a similar option. Tap on complication slots to see available data sources. Each watch face supports different numbers and positions of complications.

  • Third-Party Complications: Many apps add their own complication options. After installing an app, its complications become available in the selection menu.

Tiles

Tiles provide quick access to apps and information through horizontal swiping.

  • Accessing Tiles: From your watch face, swipe left or right to scroll through your tiles. Each tile shows a full-screen view of specific information or app shortcuts.

  • Managing Tiles: Swipe to your tiles area, scroll to the end, and tap Add tiles to browse available options. Drag tiles to reorder them, putting frequently used information closer to your watch face.

  • Tile Suggestions: Keep 3-5 tiles maximum for quick navigation. Too many tiles make finding information slower than opening the app directly.

Quick Settings

Quick settings provide toggles for common functions without navigating to full settings.

  • Accessing Quick Settings: Swipe down from your watch face to reveal the quick settings panel. Swipe left within this panel to see additional toggles.

  • Customizing Toggles: Look for an edit or customize option (often a pencil icon) within the quick settings panel. Add, remove, and reorder toggles to prioritize the functions you use most.

  • Common Quick Settings: WiFi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, Airplane Mode, Theater Mode, Brightness, and Flashlight are typically available.
