How to Control Volume and Settings with Gemini on Smartwatch

Gemini provides voice control for essential watch settings like volume, Do Not Disturb, and battery monitoring. This is especially useful when adjusting settings through the small touch screen isn't convenient.

Volume Control

Adjust audio levels on your watch and connected devices using voice commands.

  • Basic Adjustments: Say Turn up the volume, Volume down, or Lower the volume for quick changes.

  • Specific Levels: Say Set volume to 50 percent or Volume at 75% for precise control.

  • Volume Types: Say Set media volume to 80 percent or Turn notification volume down to adjust specific audio streams.

  • Mute/Unmute: Say Mute to silence your watch or Unmute to restore audio.

Do Not Disturb

Manage notification interruptions through voice commands.

  • Enable DND: Say Turn on Do Not Disturb or Enable Do Not Disturb to silence notifications.

  • Disable DND: Say Turn off Do Not Disturb or Disable Do Not Disturb to resume normal notifications.

  • Timed DND: Say Turn on Do Not Disturb for 1 hour or Enable Do Not Disturb until 5 PM for scheduled silence.

  • Status Check: Say Is Do Not Disturb on to check current status.

Battery and Device Status

Monitor your watch's power and system status.

  • Battery Level: Say What's my battery level, Check battery, or How much battery do I have left.

  • Charging Status: Say Is my watch charging when on the charger to verify connection.

  • Low Battery Alert: Gemini can warn you when battery is low during other queries, prompting you to charge soon.

Combined Commands

Execute multiple settings changes with a single voice command.

  • Volume + DND: Say Turn volume to 50 percent and enable Do Not Disturb for multi-action control.

  • Media + Volume: Say Play music at 70 percent volume to start playback with specific volume.

  • Efficiency: Combined commands are faster than issuing separate requests, especially useful when preparing for meetings or workouts.

Settings Limitations

Some watch settings aren't available through voice control.

  • Not Supported: Screen brightness, WiFi toggle, Bluetooth toggle, and display timeout typically require touch interaction.

  • Brand Variations: Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch have different voice-accessible settings. Some features work only with manufacturer-specific assistants.

  • System Settings: Deep system configurations like factory reset, software updates, and account management require the Settings app.
