How to Pair OnePlus Watch 2 with Android Phone

Pairing your OnePlus Watch 2 with your Android phone enables full WearOS functionality, health tracking, and seamless integration with the OnePlus ecosystem.


Prerequisites

Before pairing, ensure you have these essentials ready:

  • Android 8.1 or Higher: Verify your phone's Android version in Settings.
  • OnePlus Health App: Install from Google Play Store before starting.
  • Bluetooth Enabled: Turn on Bluetooth in your phone's quick settings.
  • Watch Charged: Ensure at least 50% battery to complete pairing without interruption.
  • Wi-Fi or Mobile Data: Required for initial setup and account verification.
  • Google Account: Needed for Play Store access and WearOS features.

Step-by-Step Pairing Process

1. Prepare Your Watch

  1. Charge your watch to at least 50%
  2. Press and hold the power button until the OnePlus logo appears
  3. Select your language when prompted
  4. Tap the screen to proceed with setup

2. Install OnePlus Health App

If not already installed:

  1. Open Google Play Store on your phone
  2. Search for "OnePlus Health"
  3. Tap Install

5. Complete Bluetooth Pairing

You may see additional Bluetooth pairing requests:

  1. Tap Pair when you see "Bluetooth pairing request"
  2. This enables phone calls and media audio
  3. Grant permissions for:
    • Contact sharing
    • Call log access
    • Message access (for notifications)

6. Set Up Google Account

To access the Play Store and Google services:

  1. On your watch, you'll see "Add Google account"
  2. Tap Next
  3. Follow prompts on your phone to sign in
  4. Enter your Google account credentials

  • Notifications Appear: Test by sending yourself a message to verify notifications sync.
  • Data Syncs: Health data transfers between watch and phone automatically.
  • Bluetooth Connection: Phone's Bluetooth settings show "Connected" under watch name.

Pairing Multiple Devices

The OnePlus Watch 2 can only be paired with one phone at a time.

To switch phones, unpair from your current phone first by going to OnePlus Health app Device Unpair, then pair with the new phone following the complete pairing process above.


Maintaining Connection

To keep your watch connected and syncing properly:

  1. Keep Bluetooth enabled on your phone
  2. Don't force stop OnePlus Health app
  3. Disable battery optimization for OnePlus Health:
    • Settings Apps OnePlus Health Battery Unrestricted
  4. Stay within range - approximately 10 meters
  5. Update regularly - Keep both devices updated

Troubleshooting Pairing Issues

If pairing fails:

  1. Restart both devices

    • Turn off watch and phone, then turn back on

  3. Forget previous pairings
