Galaxy Watch 7 Not Charging - Troubleshooting

If your Galaxy Watch 7 won't charge, follow these steps in order. Most issues are caused by dirty contacts, improper positioning, or faulty power sources.

Quick Fixes (Try First)

Start with these basic troubleshooting steps.

  • Clean contacts: Wipe back of watch and charger surface with soft dry cloth.

  • Reposition watch: Center on charger, back down, wait for magnetic snap.

  • Check connections: USB fully inserted in charger and adapter.

  • Try different outlet: Rule out power source issues.

  • Restart watch: Press and hold Home button Restart.

Advanced Troubleshooting

If basic fixes don't work, try these advanced steps.

  • Test different charger: Try another Samsung watch charger or use phone's Wireless PowerShare.

  • Use wall adapter: Computer USB ports often don't provide enough power.

  • Software fix: Update software, clear cache via Recovery Mode.

Overheating Warning

If watch gets very hot while charging and doesn't progress, this may indicate a hardware defect.

  • Stop charging immediately: Remove from charger right away.

  • Let watch cool down: Place in a cool, ventilated area.

  • Try different charger: Rule out charger issues.

  • Contact Samsung: If persistent, seek warranty exchange.
