How to Reset Samsung Galaxy Watch 6
The Galaxy Watch 6 supports soft reset (restart) and factory reset. Choose based on your situation.
Soft Reset (Restart)
Preserves all data—use when watch is slow or unresponsive.
- Press and hold Home button for 7-10 seconds
- Tap Restart when prompted
- Wait for reboot (30-60 seconds)
Factory Reset via Settings
Erases all data—use for persistent issues or before selling.
- Open
SettingsGeneralReset - Tap Factory data reset
- Scroll down and tap checkmark
- Enter PIN if prompted
- Tap Delete all
Factory Reset via Buttons (Unresponsive Watch)
- Power off watch completely
- Press and hold both buttons (Home + Back)
- Release at Samsung logo
- Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset using Home button
- Select Yes and confirm
- Select Reboot system now
Before Factory Reset
What gets erased:
- Downloaded apps and data
- Watch settings and customizations
- Stored music and photos
- Health data not synced to Samsung Health
Backup first:
- Sync Samsung Health on phone
- Note custom settings to restore later
After Reset
- Watch shows setup screen
- Pair with phone via Galaxy Wearable app
- Sign in to Samsung account
- Restore settings from backup
Try Restart First
Most issues resolve with a simple restart. Only factory reset if problems persist after restart.
