Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Rotating Bezel Maintenance Guide

The rotating bezel is a precision 120-step mechanism that requires occasional care to maintain smooth operation. Most bezel issues are caused by debris, salt, or sweat buildup in the bezel gap.

Daily Care

After workouts: Rotate bezel several times to dislodge sweat, wipe with soft dry cloth.

After water exposure: Rinse with fresh water (especially after pool/ocean), rotate bezel while rinsing, shake off excess, pat dry.

Weekly Deep Clean

  1. Hold watch under lukewarm running water (avoid hot water)
  2. Rotate bezel continuously in both directions while rinsing
  3. Continue for 30-60 seconds to flush debris
  4. Shake off excess water
  5. Pat dry with lint-free cloth
  6. Rotate bezel while drying
  7. Let air dry completely before wearing

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Bezel feels gritty: Sand, dust, or debris in mechanism. Rinse under lukewarm water while rotating vigorously for 2-3 minutes. May require multiple cleanings.

  • Bezel feels stiff: Dried residue or salt crystals. Soak in lukewarm water for 5-10 minutes while gently working bezel back and forth. Cold weather can also cause temporary stiffness.

  • Bezel won't rotate: Check for visible debris. Soak in lukewarm water and attempt very gentle rotation. Do not force — may damage mechanism. Contact Samsung if remains stuck.

What to Avoid

Never:

  • Use compressed air directly on bezel (forces debris inward)
  • Apply soap directly to bezel gap
  • Use WD-40 or lubricant sprays
  • Force a stuck bezel
  • Use toothpicks or sharp objects in gap

Safe to use: Plain lukewarm water, distilled water, soft microfiber cloth.

When to Contact Samsung

Contact support if bezel completely stops rotating, clicking mechanism fails, bezel becomes loose or wobbly, or you hear grinding sounds during rotation.
