How to Track Sleep on Galaxy Watch 5 Pro

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro automatically tracks sleep using motion, heart rate, and SpO2 sensors—no manual start required.

How It Works

Sleep tracking activates automatically when you fall asleep. The watch uses:

  • Accelerometer for movement and position
  • Heart rate sensor for continuous monitoring
  • SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen (optional but recommended)
  • Skin temperature for environmental sensing

Enable Sleep Tracking

  1. Open Samsung Health on watch or phone
  2. Tap Settings Sleep
  3. Enable Track sleep automatically
  4. Optionally enable Blood oxygen during sleep
  5. Set your typical sleep schedule for better detection

Sleep Score

The daily sleep score (0-100) factors in:

  • Total sleep duration (7-9 hours optimal)
  • Sleep stage distribution
  • Schedule consistency
  • Blood oxygen stability
  • Heart rate patterns

Interpretation: 90-100 excellent, 80-89 good, 70-79 fair, below 70 needs improvement.
