How to Update Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Software

Keep your Galaxy Watch 4 running optimally with regular software updates for new features, security patches, and performance improvements.


  1. Go to Settings About watch Software update
  2. Tap Download and install
  3. If update available, tap Install
  4. Watch restarts automatically after installation
  • Requirements: Battery at least 50%, connected to WiFi or phone's internet, and sufficient storage space.

Method 2: Update via Phone

  1. Open Galaxy Wearable app
  2. Tap your watch Watch software update
  3. Tap Download when update found
  4. Tap Install and keep watch nearby

Update Duration

  • Check: 1-2 minutes
  • Download: 5-15 minutes
  • Installation: 10-20 minutes
  • Total: 15-40 minutes for major updates

During installation: Don't interrupt or power off. Keep watch on charger if below 70%.


Software Support Status

  • Released: August 2021
  • Support ends: August 2025 (approximately)
  • Current version: WearOS 3.5 with One UI Watch 3.5

After support ends, watch continues working but receives no new updates.


Troubleshooting

  • "Software is Up to Date" but new version exists: Updates roll out gradually by region. Wait 24-48 hours and check again.

  • Update fails to download: Check internet connection, free up storage space, and clear Galaxy Wearable app cache.

  • Watch stuck on logo after update: Wait 10-15 minutes (optimization takes time). Force restart by holding both buttons 7-10 seconds. If still stuck, boot to recovery and select Reboot system now.
