How to Take Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Capture screenshots on your Galaxy Watch 4 by pressing both physical buttons simultaneously. Screenshots save to the watch and automatically sync to your phone.

Taking a Screenshot

Use the button combination to capture any screen.

  1. Navigate to the screen you want to capture
  2. Press and hold both the Home button (top) and Back button (bottom) simultaneously
  3. Hold for about 1 second until the screen flashes white
  4. Screenshot is captured and saved

The timing needs to be simultaneous—if you press the buttons slightly out of sync, you may open a menu instead of taking a screenshot.

Where Screenshots Are Saved

Screenshots save locally and sync to your phone.

  • On Watch: Open the Gallery app to view all captured screenshots

  • On Phone: Screenshots sync automatically within 10-30 seconds and appear in your phone's Gallery app, typically in a Screenshots album or Watch folder

  • Resolution: The 40mm model captures at 396 x 396 pixels, while the 44mm captures at 450 x 450 pixels

Common Use Cases

Screenshots are useful for documentation and sharing.

  • Watch Faces: Capture cool watch face designs to share with friends

  • Fitness Stats: Save workout summaries and achievements to share on social media

  • Troubleshooting: Document error messages before they disappear for support requests

  • Settings Backup: Screenshot your configuration before a factory reset to remember your setup

Sharing Screenshots

Share from your phone for the best experience.

  1. Wait for the screenshot to sync to your phone's Gallery
  2. Open the screenshot and tap the Share icon
  3. Choose your sharing method (messaging, email, social media, cloud storage)

The watch itself has limited sharing options, so transferring to your phone first is recommended.
