How to Set Alarms on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
The Galaxy Watch 4 has a built-in Clock app for alarms, timers, and stopwatch. Alarms work independently of your phone, so they'll go off even if your phone is dead or out of range.
Creating an Alarm
Set up a new alarm through the Clock app.
- Press the Home button and open the
Clockapp - Tap the Alarm tab
- Tap the + icon to add a new alarm
- Use the scroll wheels to set the time
- Configure options like repeat days, alarm name, vibration, and sound
- Tap Save
For recurring alarms, tap Repeat and select the days you want the alarm active (weekdays, weekends, or specific days).
When the Alarm Goes Off
Respond to an alarm with simple gestures.
- Dismiss: Swipe right or tap Dismiss to stop the alarm
- Snooze: Swipe left or tap Snooze to pause for 5-10 minutes (configurable in settings)
The alarm continues snoozing and repeating until you dismiss it completely.
Using Voice Commands
Set alarms hands-free with Google Assistant.
Press and hold the Home button and say Set alarm for 7 AM or Set timer for 10 minutes. The assistant creates the alarm or timer without needing to open the Clock app.
Timers and Stopwatch
The Clock app also includes timers and a stopwatch for other timing needs.
-
Timers: Open the
Clockapp and tap the Timer tab, set hours, minutes, and seconds using the scroll wheels, tap Start to begin the countdown. You can create multiple named timers for cooking or other multi-task timing. -
Stopwatch: Tap the Stopwatch tab and press Start, tap Lap to mark split times during your activity. Pause, resume, or reset as needed.
Watch vs Phone Alarms
Watch alarms work independently and don't sync with phone alarms.
-
Watch Alarms: Vibrate on your wrist for a gentle wake-up that won't disturb others nearby. The small speaker is quieter than phone alarms.
-
Phone Alarms: Louder and better for heavy sleepers who need more aggressive alerts.
-
Independence: Watch alarms work even if your phone is dead, off, or out of range. The watch stores alarms locally.
Reliable Wake-Up
For the most reliable wake-up, wear the watch to bed and enable both sound and vibration. The vibration on your wrist is more personal and effective than sound alone. Charge the watch to at least 30% before bed—alarms won't work if the watch dies overnight.
