How to Reset Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

There are two types of resets: a soft reset (restart) and a factory reset (hard reset that erases all data).

Soft Reset (Restart)

  • Quick Restart: Press and hold Home button for 2-3 seconds, tap Power off, wait 10 seconds, then press and hold Home button to power on.

  • Force Restart (if unresponsive): Press and hold both buttons for 7-10 seconds. Watch force restarts automatically.

Factory Reset (From Settings)

  1. Go to Settings General Reset
  2. Tap Reset to confirm
  3. Watch erases data and restarts to setup screen

This erases all apps and watch faces, health data stored locally, account sign-ins, WiFi and Bluetooth pairings, and custom settings.

Factory Reset (Recovery Mode)

When settings are inaccessible:

  1. Power off watch completely
  2. Press and hold both Home and Back buttons together
  3. Release when Samsung logo appears
  4. Navigate with Home (scroll) and Back (select)
  5. Select Wipe data/factory reset
  6. Confirm with Yes
  7. Select Reboot system now
