How to Check Weather on Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Access current weather conditions and forecasts directly from your Galaxy Watch 4.

Quick Weather Check

  • From Watch Face: Many watch faces display current temperature. Add a weather complication and tap it for detailed forecast.

  • Weather Tile: From watch face, swipe right to tiles, find the Weather tile to view current temperature, conditions (sunny, rainy, etc.), and highs/lows. Tap for detailed forecast.

Detailed Weather Forecast

Open the Weather app from the app drawer. View comprehensive forecast including current temperature, feels like temperature, conditions, hourly forecast, daily forecast (7-10 days), precipitation chance, wind speed, humidity, and UV index.

  • Navigation: Swipe up/down to scroll through forecasts, tap hourly or daily sections, and swipe between different data views.

Adding Weather to Watch Face

Long-press watch face, tap Customize, swipe to Complications screen, tap a complication slot, scroll to Weather, and choose your style (temperature only, temperature + icon, or detailed conditions).

  • Benefits: Always-visible weather at a glance, no need to open app, tap for detailed forecast.

Weather Settings

Open Weather app Menu (three dots) Settings to configure temperature unit (°F or °C), wind speed unit (mph, km/h, m/s, knots), pressure unit (inHg, hPa, mb), time format (12h or 24h), and precipitation unit (in or mm).

Location Settings

  • Current Location: Weather uses watch GPS or phone location, automatically detects your position, and updates as you move.

  • Add Specific Locations: Weather app Menu Manage locations tap + (add location), search for city name, and add to list. Swipe between locations in the app.

  • Multiple Locations: Track weather in multiple cities for travel planning, comparing weather across locations, or monitoring home, work, and vacation destinations.

Weather Alerts

  • Severe Weather: The Weather app shows alerts for severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings, flood warnings, winter storm warnings, and heat advisories. Notifications appear on watch - tap for alert details.

  • Enable Alerts: Weather app Settings Weather alerts enabled. Choose alert types to receive notifications automatically.

Weather Data Source

  • Provider: Weather data from The Weather Channel or AccuWeather (varies by region). Updates every 30-60 minutes and requires internet connection (phone or Wi-Fi/LTE).

  • Accuracy: Generally accurate for major areas but may vary in remote locations. Cross-check with phone weather app if critical.

Weather Without Phone

  • LTE Models: Access weather independently without phone using the watch's internet connection.

  • Wi-Fi: Connect to saved Wi-Fi network to check weather without phone nearby.

  • Bluetooth-Only Models: Require phone connection for weather updates. Watch caches last weather data and updates when reconnected to phone.

Weather and Workouts

  • Pre-Workout Check: View weather before outdoor activities. Check temperature, precipitation, and wind to plan workout timing and dress appropriately.

  • During Workout: Temperature displayed during outdoor workouts with real-time conditions so you can adjust pace for hot/cold weather.

Troubleshooting

  • Weather Not Updating: Check connection (ensure watch connected to phone or Wi-Fi/LTE), enable location (Settings Connections Location On), refresh by opening Weather app and swiping down, or restart watch.

  • Incorrect Location: Weather app Menu Manage locations, verify correct location selected, delete and re-add if needed, or check GPS is working correctly.

  • Temperature Units Wrong: Weather app Settings, change temperature unit (°F ↔ °C).

  • Popular Watch Faces with Weather: Analog Dashboard, Digital Dashboard, Info Board, and custom faces all support weather complications.

  • Third-Party Weather Apps: Download from Play Store - AccuWeather, Weather Underground, and 1Weather offer alternative weather data and forecasts.
